The Fort Lauderdale Highlanders Pipe Band is a non-profit organization located in the beautiful city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Band wears the Maitland Tartan which is also the official tartan of the "City of Ft. Lauderdale". The protected Maitland Tartan can only be worn with the permission of Clan Maitland Deputy, Ian Maitland. The Band is led by Pipe Major Iain McWilliam, Pipe Sergeant Cary Spiegal and Drum Sergeant Ronald Fraser. The Highlanders' field competition bands in both grades 4a and 4b. The band won Champion Supreme for the SUSPBA’s 2007-2008 Season in Grades 4B and 5. The band provides free tuition for all those interested in both Bagpiping and Drumming.
